Dear students and prospective students,
We are continuing the online education journey we started on 23/3/2020. We will be sharing our experiences on distance education on this web page.
Provided by Istanbul Kultur University, CATS is a platform we have been actively using for several years. It has been indispensable to our program and has become significant while we are conducting our classes online.
It is possible to share all types of course material via CATS, allowing our students to follow the asynchronous content of each course. In this respect, CATS provides a significant platform since it enables us to communicate with our students through announcements, messages, forums and chatrooms.
Our department head Prof. Işıl Baş synchronously meets with our students in “Postmodern Literature”class.
All our classes are taught synchronously in virtual classrooms on Adobe Connect, with our teaching staff and students simultaneously attending each meeting.
During our online classes on Adobe Connect, we synchronously share the material previously uploaded on CATS and make sure that our students have an access to the video recording of each class after each of our meeting with them.
During this period in which we stay home for the well-being and safety of ourselves and our society, distance education has proved to be a valuable experience. It has demonstrated to everyone that we are able to maintain the quality education we are accustomed to on an online platform as well.
Below you may find video samples of synchronous classes held in Spring 2020 semester at İstanbul Kültür University, Department of English Language and Literature. Distance education has been a rather productive and pleasant experience for us and we wanted to share this with you on this web page.
